Outpatient Treatment

Background

Strategies for Change outpatient substance abuse treatment provides the tools and resources to assist adults in sustaining sobriety. Participation is open to adults, 18 years and older, seeking long-term sobriety. Clients attend a minimum of 2 groups per week and 2 individual counseling sessions per month. All clients receive a substance use and mental health assessment to determine the extent of his or her substance abuse and mental health issues. Free childcare and behavioral health support services are available to all active clients.

Strategies for Change provides outpatient treatment morning, afternoon and evenings at both North and South locations. Group sessions are 90 minutes; individual sessions are 60 minutes. All groups begin on time and require punctual attendance and participation.

North Sacramento

The North site provides 6-month, gender specific, day and evening outpatient counseling. Treatment is divided into two, three-month phases. Afternoon and evening groups are available and identified during orientation. Individual sessions are scheduled directly with the counselor or at the reception desk.

South Sacramento

General Outpatient

The South site location offers a 6-month, co-ed outpatient treatment program. Groups meet Monday and Thursday 3:30-4:00 pm; Tuesday and Friday 9:00-10:00 am. Individual sessions are scheduled directly with the counselor or at the reception desk.

Prop 36

As a Prop 36 provider, Strategies for Change provides 6-month, co-ed and gender specific day and evening outpatient treatment programs for those referred and authorized through the Courts and Probation Department.

Skills Development

Strategies for Change Skills Development Program works within the structure of Prop 36, providing premier substance abuse treatment and case management for those with compromised capacity to understand information presented and the ability to make reasoned decisions about participation.The Skills Development Program is gentle, effective, empathetic and congruent with Proposition 36 and Drug Court Probation Requirements. Scheluded Groups are Monday thru Thursday 11am-12:30 pm.
