Criminal Justice Programs

There is striking overlap between drug abuse and crime. Crimes are often drug related, and drug abusers frequently encounter the criminal justice system. When Courts fail to address the defendants' drug problems, the problem generally cycles on.

Strategies for Change and the Sacramento County Drug Courts are bridging the gap by providing three innovative approaches to addressing both crime and drug abuse.

The Sacramento Sheriff, Sacramento County Court and Sacramento County Mental Health Drug Court work directly with Strategies for Change to educated offenders to the physical and behavioral effects of their drugs and alcohol use and provided behavioral support systems so to reduce recidivism. Together we provide tangible direction and support for those wanting break the cycle and remove themselves as offenders within the criminal justice system.
