Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Strategies for Change outpatient substance abuse treatment provides the tools and resources to assist adults in sustaining sobriety. Strategies for Change outpatient substance abuse treatment is open to adults, 18 years and older and women who are pregnant (up to 60-days postpartum) seeking long-term sobriety. Clients must attend a minimum of 2 days per week and 2 individual counseling sessions per month. Strategies for Change provides coed and gender specific groups. Group sessions are 180 minutes; individual sessions are 60 minutes. Group schedule is identified during orientation. Individual sessions are scheduled directly with the counselor or at the reception desk. Aftercare is provided. Services include gender specific, coed and perinatal specific group and individual counseling, family counseling, co-occurring disorder services, parenting classes, anger management, random drug screening and referrals for ancillary services as needed. The co-ed aftercare support groups meet weekly and are open to Strategies for Change outpatient and perinatal program graduates and referred STARS clients.
