Child Reunification Strategies for Change provides specialized 6-month treatment for parents involved with Child Protective Services and Dependency Drug Court. Strategies for Change Co-occurring substance abuse treatment is designed to assist clients to deal with depression, anxiety, or other issues that are involved in their use of substances. Our co-occurring substance abuse treatment is designed to assist parents with reunification, decrease recidivism and strengthening their family. Substance abuse or addiction is often a person’s method of “feeling normal,” particularly if they suffer from chronic Depression, Bipolar Disorder, or Post Traumatic Stress. For these persons, learning to manage stress, to relax, to think about what is going on, and to learn how to reflect before taking action is essential to replacing substances as the coping mechanism of choice. In doing so, we help individuals become better parents and break the generation cycle of trauma, violence and substance abuse. Group and individual session take place at both locations at a variety of times. Participants must be referred though STARS.
